(57)【要約】 【課題】本発明は、液晶ディスプレイに於て単純な回路 で高品質の表示画像を提供することを目的とする。 【解決手段】表示装置は、画素毎に視角依存特性のある ドットマトリクス型の表示ユニットと、少なくとも一つ の水平走査期間毎に映像信号の電圧を変化させることで 表示ユニットの視角依存特性を補正する補正回路を含む ことを特徴とする。
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality display image with a simple circuit by changing a voltage of a video signal at least every one horizontal scanning period and correcting a visual angle dependent characteristic of a display unit. SOLUTION: In a clamp circuit 22, when a clamp pulse Hclp at the same timing as a horizontal synchronizing pulse is supplied, a switch SW is closed only for the active period of the pulse. At this time, the video signal Video 1 isn't supplied. When the switch SW is closed, a clamp voltage Vcl is charged in a capacity C, and the voltage of a nose A becomes the clamp voltage Vcol. Thereafter, when the switch SW is opened and the video signal Video 1 is supplied, the signal appearing on the node A becomes the signal in which the video signal Video 1 is added to the clamp voltage Vcl.
